Child and Youth Mortality Review Committee's Fourth Report to the Minister of Health (23 Sep)
The release of the Child and Youth Mortality Review Committee’s Fourth Report to the Minister of Health: Reporting mortality 2002–2005 is a time to reflect on the work of the Review Committee and to consider how the Ministry of Health is responding to the recommendations that are made in the Report.

Preventing sudden unexpected death in infancy: Information for Health Practitioners, parents and caregivers (Dec 2007)
The Ministry of Health and the Child and Youth Mortality Review Committee have reviewed the current Ministry of Health recommendations for preventing sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI).


New website launched -The Lowdown (www.thelowdown.co.nz) (Dec 2007)
This interactive website has been created to help young New Zealanders understand and recover from depression.
A range of singers, TV celebrities and sports stars will be contributing to the website.

Nominations for members of the Child and Youth Mortality Review Committee (Nov 2007)
The Ministry of Health is currently seeking applications for members of the Child and Youth Mortality Review Committee (CYMRC), on behalf of the Minister of Health. The appointment is for 2008, the process has begun early due to the election next year. Applications close 3 January 2008.

State of the World’s Mothers 2007: Saving the Lives of Children Under Age 5 (May 2007)
In commemoration of Mother’s Day, Save the Children is publishing its eighth annual State of the World’s Mothers report. The focus is on the 28,000 children under age 5 who die every day from easily preventable or treatable causes and the tragic fact that basic, lifesaving remedies still are not reaching millions of mothers and children in need.
